Odili Donald Odita's colors
Odili Donald Odita (18/02/1966, Aquarius) is Nigerian-American abstract painter, currently lives and works in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania). His family moved to the US to avoid the Nigerian Civil War.
Known for his vibrant, large-scale, abstract paintings, he explores colour both in the figurative historical context and in the sociopolitical sense.
Has received grants in 1994 from the Penny McCall Foundation, in 2001 from the Joan Mitchell Foundation, and in 2007 from the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation.
