Drawing and colour are by no means 2 different things.  As you paint, you draw...
When color is at its richest, form is at its fullest

Jean-Gabriel Domergue's female Parisians

I discovered this artist thanks to Nadine de Rothschild's book Femme un jour, femme toujours: very interesting et funny with many anecdotes about famous artists; as an actress herself, she was in close contact with many celebrities... icons like Gabrielle Chanel, Jackie Kennedy, Lady Di, Romy Schneider... (no less!).
She also shares for every age of life, her skin care recipes, makeup tips (learnt from a professional makeup artist), diets and healthy lifestyle.

Jean-Gabriel Domergue (1889-1962) was a French painter, carver and drawer, from Bordeaux (the 6th biggest city in France and the great port of southwest France, was then the 1st port of France).
At 17 years old, he already exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1906.
Earned a gold medal at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1920.
Moved into a villa on the heights of Cannes in 1927.
Designed the poster for the 1st Cannes Festival in 1939.

Often described as the inventor of the pin-up girl because of his portraits of 1920s Parisian women: indeed, he showed them with big eyes with coquettish gaze (with a Marlene Dietrich-style), slender necks, slim, ethereal and elegant...

Slender necks with exaggeration, so stretching, they look like a giraffe.  Probably, that is also the reason he was successful with many women (from the middle-class).
As he once said : women only find their portrait resembling when it resembles what they would like to be 😁
